I’m a bridesmaid

Posted by saraxlindsay on April 19, 2009

So as some of you may know, my best friend has chosen me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding on July 4th. I feel honored that she picked me and it’ll be a lot of fun. She is having an outdoor wedding at Strathcona Park here in Ottawa. We went shopping for the bridesmaid dresses on Wednesday and found nothing, but we looked online later and found the dress we want. It’s so pretty http://www.venusbridal.com/detail.php?did=752 it’s going to be in a dark green color. Now all i have to do is get fitted and put my deposit down this Saturday and then start shopping for shoes and accessories to match. We are also getting a hotel the night before the wedding to kinda have a bacherlorette party. 6 of us in a 2 king size bed room, not much sleeping will happen haha.

On other news. We are still getting ready to move, we have went and looked at a few house, but nothing permanent yet. We are waiting for a call back for this one house, and I really hope we can get it. *fingers crossed*

Anyway, this is rambling on, I am off for now.

Selling a house sucks!

Posted by saraxlindsay on March 29, 2009

Haven’t been on here in awhile. My parents have been trying to sell the house and I never realized how much of a pain in the butt it really can be. We have had 12 showings so far and the house has been on the market for 2 weeks. The showings are not fun at all, the real estate asks that you be out of the house for them. Sometimes the showings can be anywhere from an hour to 3 hours, so you have to find somewhere to go for that time.  I really hope the house sells soon, so we can just be on with our lives.

Finally got my Twilight DVD. The day of the release the malls were like Twilight Heaven lol Everything Twilight related was on sale. I ended up getting the 3 disc special edition DVD, a movie poster, 2 book marks and a “Team Edward” t-shirt.  All for under $30 =]

I have been reading this new book series called “The Mortal Instruments” there are 3 books in the series “City of bones, city of ashes and city of glass” i finished the first two and I am half way through the last one. The characters are just as loveable as the ones in Twilight. Jace and Clary who are the main characters in the book are amazing. Jace has a sarcastic, tough guy personality. It’s hot haha If they made a movie, my Jace pick would be Alex Pettyfer. He fits the part 100% <3

Psychotic Disorder & How It Affects Others

Posted by saraxlindsay on February 8, 2009

My grandmother who is 70 years old just moved in with us no more then 2 weeks ago. She has been diagnosed with Manic Depression and Bipolar. We have had to deal with it forever and we’ve learned ways to keep her out of a valley but the littlest thing can set her off and sometimes it takes day/weeks/months and sometimes years before she hits a peak again. Living with manic depressants can be very hard to deal with. It not only takes a toll on you mentally but physically also. I find myself sometimes sitting and crying because I do not know how to get the monster in my grandmother out. We just had an argument yesterday and for the last day and a half she has locked herself in her room with paper on the windows and wont talk to anyone. When my mother tries talking to her, she just rambles and says “I have things to get done” or will tell my mom that she is “not going to deal with this stuff.” When it has nothing to do with my mom. My mom’s had to deal with it for 50 years and myself of over 20. Its hard and drains you. You feel like you have to tip toe around. I know there is treatment for it, but my grandmother refuses. I wish she would let someone help her. It would make life so much easier for her and everyone else involved.

Psychotic Disorder Symptoms:
* Delusions: ideas or beliefs that may or may not have some small basis in truth or reality but generally become unbelievable or bizarre.
* Hallucinations: most commonly are voices that are heard and usually with a general commentary on the persons behaviour but sometimes with instructions or commands to the person.
* Disorganized speech: significant changes to both the manner of speaking and the content of what is being said. Generally also a reflection of the thinking process that can be disorganized, scattered and rambling.
* Negative symptoms: a lack of appropriate emotional response, emotional flatness, social withdrawal and isolation, lack of motivation and lethargy.
* Social & Occupational Dysfunction: reduced ability to carry on in the work environment, in social relations and often a deteriorated ability to look after oneself with hygiene and personal appearance.

Confused!

Posted by saraxlindsay on February 5, 2009

Lately I have been really confused with what I really want out of life.  I started my pre-req’s for Practical nursing, but couldn’t finish them this semester because of the buses going on strike and me not being able to get there. Now that i sit down and actually think about it, I am not sure if Nursing really is the thing for me. I have always been stuck between wanting to do Nursing or Journalism, and i mean I love to write, i love english, so Journalism would be easy and fun, but I also love helping people and medical related stuff, but I don’t think I am capable of doing the science asspect of the course, it just doesn’t click in my head.

That’s why I am so confused. I hope i can figure something out soon. I need to know what I am doing before they start taking Applications for next January.
